The Englehart area offers a variety of quality healthcare services. These services include a hospital, medical clinic, public health services, and other healthcare resources. 

Blanche River Health  

Blanche River Health is a fully accredited hospital organization committed to providing quality patient-centered health care services in Northern and Central Timiskaming.  It continues to lead in Health Care Services by collaborating with Community Health Partners creating safe and healthy communities and ensuring seamless transitions to other Health Services. Blanche River Health has two hospital sites in Englehart and Kirkland Lake, Ontario. 

 The Englehart & District Hospital has 30 beds (16 Acute Care, 14 Complex Continuing Care), is staffed by 100 employees, and has 4 Family Practice Physicians, Locums and 3 visiting Specialists.  In partnership with Sudbury's Health Sciences North Hospital, EDH provides Virtual Critical Care.   EDH has a 24/7 Emergency Department and offers Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Respiratory in partnership with Vital-Aire, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Hospice Palliative Care and Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) to both our in-patients and out-patients. 

Englehart Family Health Team

The Englehart and District FHT is patient-centered and provides access to a number of primary health care services from a variety of team-members, including your Primary Care Physician, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and other allied health professionals. It is the purpose of the Englehart and District Family Health Team to improve the health of our people and community by:

  • Promoting health and preventing disease

  • Enhancing care, treatment and referral services; and

  • Teaching, learning and sharing knowledge effectively.

Timiskaming Health Unit

The Timiskaming Health Unit (THU) works with our community to promote and protect the health and wellness of all members of the community. THU is dedicated to delivering public health programs, classes and services in the District that are accessible for everyone. 

Canadian Mental Health Association

The Cochrane-Timiskaming Canadian Mental Health Association helps people living with, and touched by, mental illness by providing the support and services need to live happy and fulfilling lives. 

Other Resources

211 Ontario connects people to organizations that can help them with many challenges, such as healthcare services/programs, employment services, food programs, utility and rent assistance, etc. 211 is free, confidential, and multilingual.
