ATTENTION RESIDENTS SERVICED BY THE ENGLEHART DRINKING WATER SYSTEM
Area affected: Entire Town (including connections in Evanturel &
Charlton and Dack
Effective immediately, all residents are required to boil their tap water
before using it for drinking, cooking, washing food, making baby food or
formula, making ice cubes, making juices and other mixes, gargling, brushing
teeth or rinsing dentures due to a potential problem with the water system. The
water can be made safe by boiling for at least one minute at a rolling boil.
Boiled water should be stored in a clean container in the refrigerator.
Alternatively, bottled water can be used.
Adults, teens and older children can use tap water for baths and showers.
Small children can be given sponge baths instead of tub baths or showers. Do
not swallow any tap water used for showers and baths.
When washing dishes in a dishwasher, use at a high heat setting or sanitize
cycle. When washing dishes by hand, wash in hot soapy water, rinse and allow to
dry as usual. To sanitize, mix 1 tsp. bleach to 1 liter of water. Let dishes
soak in the solution for one (1) minute.
You will be notified when service is returned to normal and the water is
again safe to drink.
