The Town of Englehart's Council meetings are held once a month on the fourth Wednesday. Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month for Committee of the Whole meetings. Council consists of 6 Councillors and 1 Mayor. The current term of Council runs from December 1, 2018 to November 30, 2022.

Nina was born and raised in Englehart and has never wanted to live anywhere else. Nina and her husband John have been teachers in the area for the last 25 years. Together they have 3 sons and 1 beautiful granddaughter. This year marks Nina's 20th year on Council. Nina started as a Councillor in 2001, then in 2005 she became Mayor. Nina first joined Council because she felt it was a great place to raise her family and she wanted to ensure Englehart continued to be a wonderful family friendly community. Nina has had the privilege to work on every committee of Council. Nina is optimistic for the future of Englehart and believes this is a great town filled with wonderful and caring people.

Jerry was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania and moved to Northern Ontario when he was 11 years old. Jerry grew up in Chartlon and graduated from Englehart Highschool then proceeded to further his education at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario where he earned his Business Marketing Diploma. Jerry returned to the Englehart area to raise his family. He has worked at the ONR for 23 years as a Rail Traffic Controller & Rules Instructor. Jerry enjoys sports and has been involved in the youth sports in our area. During Jerry's time on council, he started the Englehart Youth Slo Pitch and Adult Mixed Slo Pitch leagues and helped organize various events such as the 2008 men’s curling provincials, Englehart's annual mixed slo-pitch tournament & Yuk Yuk’s comedy night during the Englehart Winter Carnival. Jerry was first elected to council in 2006 in hopes to make ensure that taxpayer's tax dollars were being spent properly and stretched as far as they could to better serve the community. He was elected again in 2018 and has been serving as Deputy Mayor for the town since then. Currently Jerry is the chair of the Regional Economic Development Committee and Vice-Chair of the Englehart & Area Museum Board, and alternate member of the Special Events Committee & the MNR’s Local Citizen’s Committee.

Jillian was born and raised in Englehart, she attended post secondary in Waterloo and Toronto. Jillian is a teacher for DSB1 and enjoys educating the youth in our district. This Jillian's first term on council and is enjoying learning about the different aspects that pertain to our community. Jillian wanted to be on council to be a voice for young families in our community as well as look for innovative ways for the town of Englehart to thrive and grow. Jillian is very proud of our town and feels that it is important for all of our community to recognize the different services and facilities that are available. Jillian has been a volunteer for the Lifesaving Society for 20 years, has been a member of different Frog’s Breath fundraisers, member of The One Foot Forward Committee, volunteered as a youth league coach, a Timiskaming Track Club coach and is often part of different volunteer opportunities that benefit the Town of Englehart and our surrounding areas. Jillian is honoured to represent the residents of Englehart and looks forward to improving our community in the future!

Lorie was born and raised in Englehart. She has been married for 30 years to her husband David and they have two children Tyler and Karlie. Lorie and David also have one beautiful grandson Kaleb whom they love spending their free time with. Lorie first ran for Council in the fall of 2018, making this her first term. It is her knowledge and commitment to Englehart that helped her decide that running for town council would be a natural extension of continuing involvement in the community and giving her the ability to give back to Englehart. Lorie wants to provide good leadership, serve her community and be a part of the decision making to plan and build for the future growth of Englehart. Lorie is very busy when she isn't working at NEOFACS and spending time with her family. Lorie belongs to many organizations in the community like the Rotary Club of Englehart. You can always find Lorie volunteering with their many projects and fundraisers within the community. Lorie also is an active long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 104 and the Ladies Auxiliary. Lorie belongs to the Special Events Committee where she is always seen helping with the various events. Lorie also belongs to the Library Board and the Planning Board. Lorie is hopeful for the future of Englehart and is excited to continue to give back to the community while on Council.

Twyla was raised in Tomstown and moved into Englehart 52 years ago. Twyla and her husband Bruce have been married for 52 years. Together they have two adult children and two beautiful grandchildren whom they cherish dearly. This is Twyla's fourth term on council. Twyla has always been interested in politics and with the encouragement of her husband she decided it was time to get involved. Twyla has been involved in volunteer work locally, in the district and also at the provincial level. She has volunteered on many boards over the years including agricultural society , horticultural society, cancer society, as well as many fundraisers for these and many other organizations or projects within Englehart. Twyla was on the organizing committee for the uptown rejuvenation of the park now known as Centennial Park, Twyla planned Music in the Park featuring local talent for 3 summers. At present Twyla sits on the Library Board, Community Policing, Centennial Park and Emergency Management Committees. Twyla is very optimistic for the future of Englehart and is thankful for the opportunity to serve the tax payers.

Jason was born in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Englehart in 1992. Jason and his wife Amanda have one daughter Lexi. When Jason decided to run for council, he wanted to be a voice for those in the community who didn't feel they had one. Jason enjoys being a part of the decision making process in our community as well as listening to resident's concerns and suggestions for the Town. Jason is thrilled to be back for his third term on Council. Jason can often be seen in the area on his ATV in the summer or his snow machine in the winter. Jason is currently the President for the board of directors for the Englehart and Area Child Care Centre, member of the Special Events Board and he is also the chief steward for Unifor Local 6 south. Jason is optimistic for the future of our community and wants to ensure we have a welcoming community for all to enjoy.
Doug was born and raised in Tarzwell just north of Englehart on highway 112. Doug and his lovely wife Judy moved to Englehart to be closer to the hospital as two of their children had Cystic Fibrosis. This is Doug's fourth term on council. Doug decided to run for Council when he was approached by many residents to run. This gave Doug the determination to run and be a voice for rate payers. Doug is very active in the community, you can often see Doug chatting with members of the community as well as volunteering for various groups such as the Rotary Club of Englehart. Doug enjoys being a part of Council and will continue to serve the residents of Englehart!
